We are in Drass valley with strikingly different landscape dotted with remote mud huts giving an impression that you really have traveled back in time. Lunch will be at midway (on own). After a passport check we continue on to Kargil . Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

DAY 02: KARGIL-LAMAYURU - LEH (175 km, 6 - 7 hr drive)
Early morning after b/fast drive to Leh. This drive normally takes about 5 – 6 hrs non stop, but we will be stopping at Lamayuru monastery for sight seeing. Later continue our drive to Leh enroute visiting, Sangam, Gurudwara Patthar Sahib and Magnetic hill. Reach Leh in the evening evening and check in hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 05, 01-Sep-18:
Day 03: LOCAL SIGHTSEEING AT LEH
Morning Relax at Hotel, Afternoon sightseeing of Leh City.
SANKAR GOMPA & VILLAGE: A relatively modern monastery, it is closely associated with the Spituk monastery and served as the residence of the late head priest-Kushak Bakula. A number of gold icons are to be found here.
Day 06, 02-Sep-18:
Day 04: LEH-NUBRA VIA KHARDUNGLA PASS (140 km, 5 - 6 hrs drive)
Early morning proceed to Nubra Valley via the World Highest Motorable road (5602 Mts) Khardungla pass. Arrive Nubra and proceed for a visit to the White Sand Dunes at Hunder. You can enjoy the camel ride (On Own). Later if time permits visit Hunder and Diskit monasteries and check in at Deluxe Camp. Evening at leisure. Overnight at the camp.

Day 05: NUBRA - LEH
Morning after Breakfast proceed for Leh, once again driving via Khardungla pass the World Highest Motorable road. Evening explore Leh bazaar for souvenir, visit Leh Jokhang or Leh Mosque by foot. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06: DRIVE TO PANGONG TSO (140 km, 5 hrs drive)
Morning after breakfast drive to to Pangong Lake on the Indo China. Evening check in Camps for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 07: PANGGONG - LEH
After breakfast drive back to Leh taking the same route. On the way back visit Thiksey Monastery and Sindhu Ghaat. Arrive Leh and relax at the hotel or free for individual activities.

Wagah international border (between India & Pakistan) opens from 1000 to 1600 and has a huge arch & gates of both. Since 1959, it has become famous for this ceremony, which includes the closing of international gates and the lowering of the flags of both the countries. The flag code of India mandates that the national flag shall be flown only from sunrise to sunset. The guards who perform are chosen carefully among those who have great height, ability to perform and imposing stature. No mobile phone service. No covered bags, including ladies handbags or purses. There are stalls nearby for food & water. Seats are packed on weekends and public holidays. Stand in organised crowd. Keep to the left side and follow the signs to the VIP area once you see the grandstands. There are no sheds, so it gets pretty hot and sweaty unless you go in the winters. Security at the border is very high, you'll be searched twice, and water and cigarettes confiscated. When you're let in, there are separate queues for men and women, and Indian women are kept separate for the women section. Foreigners of both sexes are kept together in the same area after going through the separated security lines. They now have a reserved section for foreign tourists so make sure you bring your passport with you so that you can skip the line and get the best seats available. Also, remember not to bring any bags with you because you will not be allowed in with them. Cameras are allowed. No tickets are needed for the event.
